Fire It Up by Brandon Fizer Ori TableThe Ori Table from DYAD by Douglas Fanning is an eloquent Western interpretation of the Japanese sit-down tea. "Ori" which means cloth, is the blanket draped over the participants at a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and an apropos inspiration for the truly dedicated to living, sharing, being. Serenely beautiful, naive and decidedly unexpected, this piece has a watery, dreamy design that pivots between sculpture and play table. Fluid, poetic, yet uncompromisingly formed in fiberglass, the appeal of the Ori Table lends itself toward the slightly unreal, almost like a childhood memory. Shown in 1963 Corvette Rally Red, luckily still in production, the Ori Table seats up to four. |
